BURNHAM LECTURER IN GEOMATICS £25,977 - £34,936 You will be responsible for lecturing across a broad range of topics, up to MSc level, to deliver a trained capability in establishing position and orientation for defence-related applications. A background in Geodesy is essential and knowledge of inertial navigation and GPS is highly desirable. Teaching duties will include: management of learning programmes, course design, student assessments and project supervision. BURNHAM LECTURER IN REMOTE SENSING £25,977 - £34,936 You will be responsible for teaching and training a broad range of Remote Sensing techniques, up to MSc level, to allow military and civilian Defence geospatial analysts to create and exploit data from both passive and active sensors. Tasks include research, course design and supervision of projects. A background in Remote Sensing is essential and knowledge of GIS and Photogrammetry is highly desirable. BURNHAM LECTURER IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS £25,977 - £34,936 You will be expected to develop and maintain training packages to meet requirements for Geo Information Management including database design, data management and generic information systems theory up to MSc level. Entry requirements for the above Burnham Lecturer appointments are relevant professional or academic qualifications at degree or equivalent and either a formal teaching qualification or working towards a qualification plus relevant recent experience in the chosen subject. Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £3,000 pa is payable. CARTOGRAPHIC INSTRUCTIONAL OFFICER £19,315 You will be responsible for teaching and assisting in the preparation and delivery of Cartographic Training including setting and marking of assessments, revision and maintenance of lessons. You will have served a recognised apprenticeship or a relevant alternative period of training and obtained a Higher National Diploma, BTEC, SCOTVEC in Cartography, and/or GIS, plus have significant practical experience in that trade or specialism. A formal certified teaching qualification in Higher Education is desirable. LEARNING TECHNOLOGIST £24,725 You will provide Learning/Technology support to RSMS in order to enable the effective delivery of Geospatial training courses. The post requires an active involvement in managing, researching and supporting learning with the use of technology. This includes the broad range of communication technology related to e-learning in support of teaching and assessment. You will of served a recognised apprenticeship or a relevant alternative period of training and obtained a Higher National Diploma, BTEC, SCOTVEC in an Information Technology-related subject, plus have significant practical experience in that trade or specialism.
