A special event has been arranged for a maximum number of 20 DSA members to visit the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office in Taunton on the 29th March.  The UKHO is a Government Trading Fund and is part of the Ministry of Defence and has been charting the world’s oceans for over 200 years.

The UKHO is the power behind the world-renowned Admiralty brand of products and services covering marine, defence, leisure and consultancy services.

They produce the world famous Standard Navigation Charts and Thematic Charts, which is a worldwide series of over 3,300 paper charts, offering global coverage at a wide range of scales.

Mariners throughout the globe rely for safe navigation on the UKHO’s world-renowned Admiralty Nautical Publications. There are currently over 220 different publications are available.

The UKHO is developing a wide-ranging series of digital and web-based products and services that will sit alongside their range of Admiralty Charts and Publications. By introducing new products, the UKHO is ensuring that the boundaries of navigational development continue to be pushed in the interests of the mariner, whilst at the same time improving Safety of Life at Sea.

Join the DSA party and see how this vast task is undertaken.
