The Defence Surveyors' Association, or DSA, is a registered charity whose principal objectives are:
- To maintain a permanent liaison between serving and retired personnel, both military and civilian who work or who have worked in the defence domain where the focus is environmental information, hydrographic, oceanographic and geographic surveys, locating and target acquisition, navigation, and geospatial intelligence.
- To keep abreast of current issues of interest to this professional community.
- To recognise the most significant contributions within this community by both members of the Armed Forces and civilians through the award of annual prizes.
The Constitution sets out the Objects and organisation of the DSA in detail.
At the DSA AGM in 2008 a Constitution was endorsed which replaced the Articles of Association as the Charity's governing document. At the AGM in 2009 a minor amendment was agreed to this Constitution; a copy of the revised document is below:
